If you have Bobo's MCM check 'A Coin Vanish'.
This should at least get you started. See the move done will help. |

No problem magico. Just for clarification Jaz wasn't steering you wrong. His reference to Dai Vernon's "A Coin Vanish", found in Bobo's and Greater Magic, is the blueprint for David's Retention Vanish.

Thanks Chad.
I never heard of a Vernon/Roth retention pass but do know Roth's work and had heard that 'A Coin Vanish' was possibly Vernon's. Happy Thanksgiving all! |

In Vernon's "A Coin Vanish" the coin was placed into the palm from above and as the hands were removed the top fingers hinged against the closing fingers.
Roth's came from the side and the palm placement is different. The hand is removed at the last moment as the fist is made. Although from the descriptions, it seems that the differences are minimal, from a spectator's point-of-view the differences are night and day. When people refer to the Vernon/Roth retention they usually mean the one popularized by Roth, in his works. |

Rik is right. It's found in the foundations section. I forgot about that.

Thank you very much for the help guys!! The reason I want this vanish is because I want to be able to go straight into the 'snap sleeve' or 'Dr. e. m. Roberts method' and I have heard a lot about that you can go straight into this sleeving method straight after the Vernon/Roth retention pass.
Thank again guys, magico563:-) |
