I'm thinking of using some fake ice cubes as final loads, click HERE to view.
If anyone has used these, I'd like their opinions on how the cubes look, how practical they are, and how durable they are. Thanks! SETH

I use the "Litecubes" brand. They sink - don't float, and activate with a push button. Comes in many colors and flash patterns. I have been through this before and tried every brand out there - these are the best. The self (water) activated ones are trouble - I cannot control them well. Oh yea, Litecubes don't leak - another reason to get them.

Hmmmmmm. I thought the advantage of the MW cubes was that they WOULD leak a little bit (but only on demand, supposedly), therefore looking like real ice cubes, which would naturally melt a bit during use.
Anyway, I appreciate the suggestion, Chris, and I look forward to seeing what others have to say. Besides, if this doesn't work out, there's always lots of plastic fruit to try (grin). SETH

I got to see the late Bob Read in one live performance at the Magic Circle Centenary in 2005. His closing bit was really neat. He walked over to a water pitcher that was on the stage behind him, picked out a handful of ice cubes, lay down on the floor and proceeded to do a routine about how he had learned to do dice stacking.
He said that the instructions had come from Harry Stanley, and that he had spent several months working on the routine before he realized that all the "d"s were missing from the manuscript. At that instant, he raised the glass and displayed that he had just done ice stacking.

The Litecubes can be frozen in water. I have put them in a stainless condiment cup with water. Walmart sells them.
