Hello my friend Broccoli from Japan,
First I am glad you put it up on YouTube as I've had trouble viewing in the past. Very nice job on a wonderful effect! As always, looking forward to more of your magic! Mick |

Hi Broc,
First, although you use the hanging coins methodology, you realize you are NOT doing the Hanging Coins routine. The coins vanished when you waved over the hand... Second, before you post a video, watch it carefully. You flash EVERY TIME you wave the coins over the left hand. Remember, keep the coin pointed towards, and level, with their eyes... Finally, I'm not sure I like the false transfer- it looks to contrived, too studied. The mechanics are interesting though- can you make it look less studied? Thanks for the video! Ben

Hello, I'm Broccoli from Japan.
First of all, thank you for the answer on my video. I can do nothing but admire your logic. However, I'm perplexed. Because I was knocked down by your logic by the first meeting. I can't understand maybe...Because I am Japanese. regards. Broccoli. |

The hanging coins is about taking coins and hanging them up in mid-air where they become invisible and weightless.
The basic mechanics is very Ramsay-like and it's easy to confuse the vanish sequence from the end of "three coins in the hat" with the beginning stuff when working on an EG handling of the trick. The idea of making the placement more visual is good however it also directly exposes the audience to coins in a place where they must later be concealed from both the eye and mind of the audience. The idea behind your last placement is good and if you take it QUIETLY into a different sleight like a spidergrip vanish you might be able to vanish that last coin after all. Best wishes, - jon

Broccoli,
I only know Ben from the forums but what I do know is that he was only offering his opinion and some creative criticism as well as proper crediting of the effect! Ben is one of the good guys and from what I've read and heard, a fine magician willing to help! Mick |

Hey Mickey,
Thanks so much for the kind words. And Broc, sorry for the confusion. What I mean is- when you wave you do so both left and right AND in an up and down arc. The up and down arc is what gives you the problem. It flashes the coin in the concealed grip when you reach the lowest part of the downward arc. The other thing was the false transfer. You get a great burn on the sucker, and I like that you don't have to readjust, but the action itself looks too contrived. I would, as a human, not magician, question it- especially after the coins vanish from that hand. Roth's actual handing doesn't have the same burn, but it looks very fair and again, no adjustments. Maybe think about David's handling for the first coin, and yours (is it yours?) for the second... The third? Up to you. Hope that helps!

Hello, I'm Broccoli from Japan.
Mr.Ben, I'm glad the kind words. I used the words thoughtlessly called Hanging Coins. I learnt that it was dangerous to make a change disregarding David master's idea. First of all, the wave of coins certainly causes the flash as you say. Well, I have a question. Should not do in the wave or should I do the wave to the correct direction? I understood. The transfer of the coin should not say "natural". So, I should faithfully reproduce David's method. I can feel that this is near the rule of not putting out a jumbo coin at the end of Portable Hall. I started magic five years ago, and 19 years old now. I make an effort. I am glad that you will watch in the future. regards. Broccoli. |

Broccoli,
Rather that reproducing David Roth's "Hanging Coins" why not continue fine tuning YOUR effect! I only watched it once and I did my best to view with layman eyes so as not to look for any flashes or specific moves that a magician might(as Ben did)spot! I personally like the routine and I think with some modifications and addition polish this will be a winner! Please keep us (me) posted on the progress! Mick I enjoyed your version of "Winged Silver"? I'd love to see it again so maybe you can put it up on YouTube! |

My Dear Friend MickeyPainless.
First of all, I want to say the reward to you. Japanese race doesn't like confrontation. Therefore, own policy is not emphasized. I do not think that this is good. Well, I want to keep polishing up my art. By the way, all my videos shifted to youtube. Please see it below. Winged Silver http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LpxSjRqr_U Or, there are all links. http://hp.kutikomi.net/buroko/?n=page5 **However, Japanese will be displayed in a mysterious language. regards. Hey Br
I don't think there is anything wrong with the way you structured your effect. One advantage I think hanging versus vanishing has is that it is novel and less challenging. But, as you know, the concealment is so darn good and it looks so *** fair that you can really do whatever you want for a presentation. I also think the waving is fine- just don't go in an up and down arc- only left and right. When David has 2 coins left he holds one in each hand and shows the back and front of the hand by moving them in and out- that could be used to duplicate a wave, without the chance of flashing. All in all, it's some good work bud! Bens

Changing that transfer/placement is key.... it explains exactly what your doing , and that is the reason for the ruse david roth uses to get in that position. if you do not like the ruse such as myself you can try a more advanced handling like hanging clean or kainoas ideas.
also I looks like those dollar sized to coins are to large for you for this. the way you fingers are shaped around the coin in edge grip make it look like your holding a coin |

Broccoli,
Work on the Shuttle Pass for Winged Silver. Right now you are simply turning your left hand palm down and the coin pops up in your right fingers. It is supposed to be a hand to hand transfer. Cheers!

Mr.Stanyon, thank you for the comment.
Certainly, it might not seem that the coin was passed. However, in seeing so, because you are a skilled magician. Or, can you judge it from eyes not cloudy so? I wanted to pursue visual. Did it become an enmity? I am just surprised at the quickness of the reaction of men in the magic Café. It is very wonderful. regards. Broccoli. |

Try doing the actions (transfers - placements) for real and see where your hands need to be for things to work - then much easier to insert the sleights.
