There has been much discussion of the Twisting the Aces effect. The original used the Elmsley Count. Can anyone advise if the Nick Trost version also uses this or is it different?

It's different and uses no Elmsley count (uses no false count if I recall). It's a gaffed method of doing the trick.

Paul.

As I recall it is virtually "sleightless" as is most of the items from Nick Trost, which makes his effects some of my favorites.

The effect is the important thing, how you achieve it is not.......

You are probably talking about Nick's "Trick-Kards". In "The Card Magic of Nick Trost", it does not use the EC. It is easy to make up and to do, and it has two back changes and a face change. The only downside is that you don't end clean, barring a switch.

'Trick-Kards' and Trost's marketted 'Twisting the Aces' is different trick.

BTW, ending clean is not always necessry if the effect is good enough.

Ooops, I goofed. 'Trick-Kards" does use the EC at least once, I believe twice, for the last changes.
