I've never seen this routine. Would someone mind posting a video?

Am very sad right now. He was definitely a friend, mentor, and huge influence on my magic. Am utterly speechless.

I feel the same I can't imagine there are any magicians who he hasn't influenced in some way. I count myself as blessed for having the chance to meet one of my magical hero's more than once, the world is going to be a much sadder place without him RIP

Yes, MB, I totally second your comments on Daryl. He was supremely confident and smooth. I also
comment on Paul Chosse's comment (RIP) and Doug Brewer's as well. mostly, it is a sad day for countless days in magic, without Daryl. |

Regarding naturalness on the HPC: I think we are going about it wrong.
For spectators we have to condition them to see what is natural vs. not! I believe that as the artist, we have the power to set the standard of what is natural. Keep in mind they don't know what to expect, and they are definitely NOT evaluating our moves based on how they look compared to how they (the layperson) would do it. So do a few feints where you actually place the coins on the table simulating an HPC, and really try and condition the spec into seeing this. You are setting them up for the fall. And then they will be eating out of your hand. Arguing about whether or not a move is natural based on how some hypothetical layperson would do it seems counterproductive to me, no offense anybody! And I agree with the person above who said that the HPC doesn't have to look like a forceful slam. You can make it look as if you are merely turning the palm hand down and the coins fall to the table, gently. Also, the Gallo Pitch comes to mind as an excellent alternative. |

Francis Carlyle also used the "air drop" of the coins in his HPC for coins through the table. So both hands would "smack" their supposed coins on the table, from a height. ("How many coins here?" (smack) Right!...And how many here? (smack) Right! Now watch!") The left hand "gets out of the way" in the air.
