Does anyone own one of these made by ProCraft? I know the history and working and quality of Walter's. I never had the money when he was building them and now I am blessed to have saved enough and want to know the quality of ProCraft prior to making this purchase.
Thank you Shawn O'Brien |

My guess is that Walter wouldn't let just anyone build his products. He's very protective of his illusions. Some might know more about ProCraft but if they are building an authorized version by Blaney, my guess would be it's ok...just a guess.

Yes, Walter is selling through Procraft. I've bought a great white hoop through them.

Procraft does great work. Walter is quoted as saying the couldn't tell the difference between the ons Procaft built and the original sample he sent them to copy.

Bill Blagg III performs one in his show and talks HIGHLY about them. I got to see this effect in action and it gets a great response from the audience members.
I have seen both the 10 grand version and 3001 version. I would go with the 3001 version over the ladder version not for price but I understand there more movements with this one then the ladder one. Not so sure on that but that was what I was told. Still both version are wonderful illusions. I have not worked with pro craft but I have see the props and they look top notch.

A little off topic but I just got one of their backdrop systems, really great quality, I would recommend them highly.

Did you purchase the Dondrake moving wall technology backdrop system?
It's all in the reflexes.

The ladder version, as you refer to it, is based on a different principle and has more moving parts. The 3001 is very similar in many respects to the Jack Gwynne suspension, but has a couple of added features. Regarding ProCraft, their work is impeccable.

Bill Thanks. I guess as I re-read what I wrote I guess I should be clear. I mean movement of the magician not the parts of the illusion. Sorry about that.

I"ve owned one of Procraft's 3001 models for about 3 years. Very well built and very deceptive when done correctly.
Bill Blagg is great to work with. I picked mine up directly from him and his dad who I believe does quite a bit of the metal work. Whoever does it, it's done very well. The 3001 is a wonderful illusion and though not 100% angle proof (and who's is?) it comes very very close. Good luck ...you'll not be disappointed if you end up with one of these. |

Well built, my only disappointment with the 3001 is that the board cannot be removed.
So you end up with the old question, is it the 'floating lady' or the 'floating board'. With all the improvements in the 3001 I wish they'd find a way to remove the support board as in the Gwynne original. Magically, Walt |

How is the angles with this illusion? Can you play it at three angles comfortably? I.e can you see the illusion from front and both sides (left and right).
I'm thinkin', is this a suitable illusion for corporate events etc? Thanks, NBz |

In short NBz, No is the answer.

I just saw this performed at the Castle last night by Anthony Reed. It was a great performance and great prop. The only suspension I have seen that when the supports are removed it actually looks like they are moved.
