In Magic and Showmanship, H Neims says that Casanova, the great lover, used arithmetic to answer the questions of his dupes (Page 23, Arithmagic)
Anybody know anything about his method? :) |

Specifically it says he used arithmetic to spell the answers. One would presume it has something to do with the relationship between 5318008 618 and Anna Nicole Smith.

Casanova himself describes his method in his memoir and it seems to be a combination of cold reading and sham kabbalism, using some sort of calculation based however loosely on Pascal's triangle. Essentially, the Forer effect at its best.
