I'm sure this has been addressed, but as the search function isn't working I can't find any relevant threads. So bear with me.
What are some of the opinions amongst this group concerning the various fake hypnotism effects that are on the market? Stuff like "Stop Smoking Mentalism", and Kenton's recent book on quasi-hypnotic effects. |

I think they are good - although I can;t imagine doing a whole act based on them.
As a hypnotist their real value is in the fact that using these pseudo techniques you can very easily turn it into the real thing. They give you an opportunity to trip rather than trick the mind into latching onto the ideas you present. So in short they have potential to turn a non hypnotist into a hypnotist and a hypnotist into a better hypnotist. Expensive way of going about it though. Ant

How is it expensive? The material doesn't cost that much.

I think much of Kneppers work is quite expensive. I am not knocking it, I like it.
Squeeze the value out of it. Anthony

Thinking about Quasi Hypnotism effects and thought it might be useful to pool resources. I don;t just mean the ambiguous langauge stuff I also mean physical and mental tricks.
There are methods to stick fingers together, stick hands together, stick eyes together and stick a foot to the floor and stick someone to a chair that involve physical principles - these can be used to demonstrate your powers of influence and if you are a hypnotist then to trip someone into hypnosis. Does anyone know any others? Ant
