I felt that way about one of the first illusions I ever built- a version of cutting a lady in four (cutting in two was too easy ) It was a work of art.
Then my (ex)roommate backed her car into it. I never fully recovered.

My has to be my refinished Magicians revenge (kovari). Sometimes I just put my girlfriend in it so I can see the blade...
I've also fallen asleep with my Ninja rings in my hands. The props never cheat, yell or fight. That why we love them, Gents... Andrew |

I never really fell in love with a particular prop, but I have to admit that I really got a kick out of performing the Indian Basket and my version of the Assistant's Revenge where I came in from the back of the audience after disappearing from it. That may not sound like much, but it was in an open air theatre with no side walls to conceal my passage from the back of the stage to the back of the audience. I also didn't use any doubles. It was all done with carefully timed misdirection.

I loved that thing so much that the first day I got it you know I had to put it together. Not only that but I spent the next 6 hours having my poor wife do it oever and over and over again. lol Thank god she loves magic and thank god she loves me. lol Man what I out that girl through.

My first love.
Her name was Cutting in 6th; standing over 6 feet tall she commanded attention when the spot lights came up. We worked great together for so many years until that fateful night when I slide the number 5 blade in the slot and was greeted by a huge splinter. Come to find out when my so called friend borrowed her for a show he forgot to lube the slot. It will never be the same. Trust me guys, never fall in love with your prop. You just mite end up with a broken heart. Lance |

I would have to say that my favorite magic trick/illusion is Walt Sheppards "Where'd the bunny go" it was so beautifully made and works so well with ALL the audiences I do... I DO feel though that pretty much anything new if its cool we all have a little crush on it in the beginning... Dave

It was the first prop I built when I was about 15... a black art production box. No way could I raise enough dough for store bought, so I used stuff I found in the garage. I covered it in some felt wallpaper (remember that stuff from the 60's?) Anyway, I was really proud of that thing - it turned out great, worked and lasted years!
