I actually own the entire collection of videos from this series and I can tell you that without a doubt this is not real. If you pause it at the time of the drop you will clearly see that it is a fake head and that he lost a lot of weight in just a few seconds. But, that would be a great illusion to do every night (make it look like you got killed), very Richiardi.

The first video is definitely fake. You're not going to see those kinds of edits if it were real. They may be recreating the incident, however.

Yes, indeed its fake. One "clue" besides the sudden lost of weight is the "injury" itself. There would be way more blood and the face...well it would not be as intact. Being an OR nurse, I have seen my share. Unfortunately.
Recreation or not, I find that video kinda untasteful. Especially when the youtube user passes it along as a real thing. On a lighter note, the girl's performance is hilarious. Now that's poor acting. Not yet infomercial category, but pretty darn close!

ROFL! Someone earlier was asking about building a table of death (think with a saw though). Maybe that will change his mind about trying to build it himself lol.
PS... this looked fake to me and may I be struck by lightening for laughing if this was truely real.

The first clip is from Faces Of Death and the people who made the film admitted it was faked along with most of the other scenes on their films.
The second and third link where hard to watch because you knew it was coming.. |

There is actually a commercial video out there called When Magic Goes Wrong and while some of it is funny, if not hilarious, some of it is horrifying. One act in particular where the magician performed the knife stab but used the hand of a spectator who joined him on stage. She was incredibly reluctant to begin with but he somehow convinced her. He also blindfolded her and sure enough, he slammed her hand down on the cup with the nail and the nail punctured her hand. This was real and was being video taped. Horrifying.
Ok, I'll meet you at the place near the thing where we went that time.

Uh, yeah. That was actually one of the clips. I have to fin the other where the poor, poor spectator is the one who pays the price. Yikes!

My hand tingles just watching it! That is one trick I never wanted to touch and I have no idea on its workings. Is it fairly easy to mess it up?
Osborne has a blooper video: Nightmare from MAgicland EDIT: Oooops...have to click on 'Video' on the left menu list.

Whoah. Just watched it all the way through and yeah, that's it! Uncool.
I only know one version called "Instinct" and I have to say, I don't think it would be that easy to mess it up. But if I felt even the slightest bit unsure, I just don't think I would do it. Now I don't know how ALL the other versions work but I imagine some are similar. Depending on the conditions one is performing under and the manner in which they execute the "secret" I could see in some other cases how MAYBE one could mess up. In both of these examples in the clip above, the magis are putting on pretty tense demonstrations. Others are maybe less dramatic and therefore easier to execute. Let's also not forget there's another type of "When Magic Goes Wrong". Poor, poor Harry B., Jr. http://www.youtube.com/v/b3IebfkVjpg&rel=1"

DLF, I was not able to complete the link, but what I imagine is on there is the famous halftime football illusion.

Sorry about that. You are correct. For those that don't know, and who possibly couldn't, here is the correct link (I hope) http://youtube.com/watch?v=b3IebfkVjpg
