I'm curious to know how many of you out there use or have used these multi-media cards to pass out for prospects or current clients. Do they pay off? It seems to me that they would be like a brochure on steroids.

When I checked, they were somewhat expensive, and you would be surprised that folks do not know what to do with them....because of size and shape. But sent along with an explanation letter for clients, etc., they might work.
Anyone use them????? Video e-mail seems to work well. Blair Marshall "ShaZzam!"

Blair,
You are totally right about them. One they really never took off. I thought it would be very popular. In fact, one was telling me he used them for his entertainment company, and the disc some how got caught in the client's computer and could not get the disk out. To me, price is still too high for information that can be found on a web site. Ken |

I'm thinking that once one gets the gig, they could be good promo items to push add-on sales and residual bookings. Just a thought...you know, promo videos, links, affiliate sites, advertisement for products, etc....
I'm wondering if my fantasy here is far fetched or actually is credible. |

As Ken pointed out, they have problems inherent to their unique size.
I used them in my multimedia shop and discovered they were more trouble than they were worth. Clients don't want to put them in their wallet, and they are apt to get lost in and among the rest of the odds and ends when added to a stack of paper. You are better off with either a full-size video CD or a DVD. David
Yes, I am a magician. No I did not make my hare (hair) disappear... it just took early retirement.

They won't work in tray-load optical drives. Given that most computers these days are slot-loading, you're asking for trouble. Put one of these in the wrong type of drive, and it will take a very costly repair visit to get it back out. As Ken said, way too much trouble than it's worth.
