Actually the coin in the eye I stole from eric evans and changed it around to fit me....i don't use the coin in the eye when I work on the streets, I only use it when I'm screwing around...the coin routine danny is talking about is done with 2 coins, dannys memory is slipping , hes OLD...and I think I likely included the coin in the eye thing that I stole and changed from eric evans (whos a brillant sleight of hand guy and does the best cups and balls I have ever seen).
thanks you guys for the kind words...i guess you haven't seen me work! the sugar packet thing chad that motor city is talking about is the bill to sugar packet which I beleive was largely overlooked by magicians when the jailhouse set came out . why, I think is because it was included in a table set that had me failing...we were interupted by the wait staff delivering the food...we included it as a lesson on what or what not to do when this happens...BUT I promise that if some of you tried this routine in you inside work you would do it at every table....there is not a card trick in the world that can compete with this routine...because its impossible and its WHAT DANNY? tell us what all? ITS ? |

Ah, Kozmo's sugar packet trick. There was quite a dust up over it when Live At The Jailhouse was released. Folks were going back and forth about whether he should have stopped performing when the food arrived, etc. and MISSED one of the greatest table hopping effects you can do. It blows people away. They can't believe their bill was in a sugar packet on the table.
Do this routine and I don't care if the Pope showed up with the food, you wouldn't leave until the climax. It's too good not to finish.

Yea well it was dismissed completely by the magic community because it was performed in a situation where I failed ON PURPOSE just to show the bad side of what can happen...and they misssed the effect...its a great effect, a reputation maker and more should do the thing BUT its ok with me

Not all of us dismissed it. it my favorate bill to impossiable location effect. I never thought those things about the dinner comming and such as its a proformace on a dvd, not "real life"

Dinners do arrive when you perform. And you do end your set....and rules and theory are there for a reason. That's why you want to structure routines that are modualr and each bit can stand on their own. BUT..with Kozmo's bill to sugar packet. I wouldn't leave until the climax ( in that rare instance that the food showed up, because you get so good you can read a room and know how much time you have-but sometimes, that darn kitchen in on their game and the food comes quickly )
Know what they'll remember the next day? Not the burger they ate, because they've eaten 10,000 burgers in their life. They'll rememeber that there very own bill somehow was in a sugar packet that was on the table from the time they sat down.

They do, but I mean on a performance made for a dvd for magicians to watch, I never once thought it was a real interuption even

How does Kozmo's bill to sugar packet compare to Dill's (in Intimate Miracles)?

Kozmo is a heck of a magician, coin, chop cup, etc.. but is an even better perfromer. He pulls more smiles from a tip than anyone I have ever seen. Plus he is a real gentleman!
I saw him perform in N.O. before Katrina and we sat and talked afterward. And I still get smile on my face as I remember what watching him and talking with him taught me. Earlier in the day, I had done a couple of sets on Jackson Square and was pretty full of myself, but really did much better after seeing and talking to Koz. I may have to buzz down to DC to catch up with him and buy some stuff. The Doctor, aka BroDavid
