Sounds cool. I am wondering how one can possible feel the punch when doing a riffle shuffle. I guess you might find the odd punched card when and if one is cut to the top??

There are more efficient ways, which do not involve hard evidence of cheating, to gather target cards during a riffle shuffle.
There may be novel value in developing a way to use a blister to cull cards during a riffle shuffle, but I estimate that to be the sum total of it. CC |

Well when you learn it, will you please teach me? You see why it's always good to hang out at the gambling spot? Each one, teach one.
...and just to think that I was told not to hang out around magicians. Doc |

I'm with CC. Iv played with culling by cutting them to the top.If I work with the punch I only like to have 8 cards punched. that's a lot of cutting 8/52 =6.5 the odds of being able to hit the cards needed fast and with out drawing attention would be tough. Do-able with a **** load of practice but not sure that it's worth the time IMHO.If you know where they are before hand of course your odds are better but still I think there is better and easier options out there. If I were to do it how you were thinking I'd just use a EM.

"theres a lot of good card magic in that book, unfortunately you have to have skill to do most of it."

Steve Draun has some work related to this is his book Secrets Draun from Underground. It's called the W.E.B. shuffle. It's a good little routine and worth looking into.

My guess is it would take about 20 cuts to find two Queens or Kings if them are the ones you punched.

Doc, pm me and we can discuss the technique.

Tommy it would definetly take less than 20 cuts, at least the way I do it.

I meant math wise. Cutting to a King say 52/4 or 12 to 1 or 13 cuts before you hit one and now you got find another one and there are three left 52/3 about another 16 cuts to find it so I guess that about 30 cuts. Lets say you do a standard casiono shuffle Rif Rif Strip Rif that about 9 cuts if you about six in the strip cut. So you have to about 20 extra cuts. That without extra cuts you might need to do for misses and control. But I am just guessing at all this but it seems to me you can't be shuffling the spots of the cards.

The old trick of putting a grain of salt on the card so it cuts to the salt card is a bit like having a blister in the card I guess and they might cut to the blister more than chance would have us think perhaps.

Bishop's punch cull sticks with an overhand shuffle.
8, have you considered edge-work to "locate", and the punch to "confirm"? |

I have, but I was thinking of doing this cull without looking at the cards.
