Doug Higley's 3No Evil (http://grindshow.com/GrindShow/3NoEvil.html) arrived yesterday. I've already performed it for a couple of groups of kids. It went over VERY WELL for a group of 10 yr olds. They seemed genuinely perplexed and bamboozled. The effect is a nice adaptaion/evolution of Deddy Corbuzier's "Free Will" principle, and the props are beautiful. The group of 7 year olds were a bit scared by the shrunken head pics.
If the kids are 10 or older, I highly recommend this.

Well,
You guys have convinced me I just purchased 3No Evil and can't wait to try it out. I also purchased Christopher's "Outside the Conventional" DVD. Man, the Max Maven DVD set was a little pricey but I have ordered that as well, I think I will have more than enough material to sift through and create my routines. Thanks to all for your great ideas as usual, Omar |

Thanks agaain for all your suggestions and kind comments, the show was today and it was an absolute hit despite poor planning on the hosts part. First they told me it will be at 1:30 PM and there will be about 30 or people. Then yesterday they call up and say that it will be at 2:00 and that there will be 60 people or more. So I get there around 1:45 and there is no one but the owner of the house.
He tells me that they are running late, so I set up the few props I have and I am sitting there, and sitting there and finally people start showing up around 3:00, I was ****ed, but it was my first show and I was going to play it cool. The actual show didn't start till around 4:00, but once it started, I blew them away, it lasted about an hour and all were entertained, there was a mix of about 10 adults and 20 kids (60 people, yeah right!)but I still had a blast and was able to give out business cards and after the show a few people approched me and were interested in hiring me. The only downfall was when using Probe, it failed miserbly, I will find out from Bob K what could have gone wrong. Anyway, sorry for being so long winded but I am still basking in the glow. Omar |

A little more than an hour
I know, it seems like a lot of routines, but I wasn't rushing anything. Plus, it was for a kids birthday party (Kids = short attention span) I didn't want to stay on one routine too long. I had planned to perform for 45 mins or so, then as I got close to that, everyone was having such a great time, that I decided to add a few more routines Thanks, Omar |

I'm glad your show went well, Omar...but I'd like to know how you did 20 effects in "a little more than an hour" WITHOUT rushing it.
My hour-long performances use only 5 to 6 effects tops. Best, Mick

I'm stumped. Even my usual 30-40min gig tends to overrun most times with 4-5 effects. How do you manage that? And how did you cope with the short attention span of the kids? Just non-stop illusions of mind-reading?

OK,
I can take anyone of those routines and make it last 10 - 15 mins, but I would have lost the kids, this was a kids birthday party. For instance when I perform the Remote Vision Die for adutls, after I have set them up with a warm up number force, I then have them select thier number and I divine it and then give them a personality reading, easily over 10 mins, with kids, after they have selected the number, I just reveal the number and that takes a grand total of about 2 mins. Some of the routines I combined and of course my ESP symbol rouine with Probe failed. That took all of about 30 secs as I just stopped and went to the next one. Anyway, thanks for the congrats and I am waiting for the next one, hopefully a show for adults. Thanks, Omar |

For those who were curios, the Probe failed due to weak batteries, and I should know better.
Note to self: FBBES: Fresh Batteries Before Each Show Thanks, Omar |

Just imagine, if no matter what number you select, I can tell you every time 100% and imagine if you tried to fool me by hiding the die behind your back and not in the box, and I can tell you that you didn't put the die in the box.
It absolutely kills with kids or adults. If the previous number force hits with more than half the spectators (and it did) then you really are making them believers. Giving a reading to kids just bores them, with adults it is different, they want to know more about themselves Thanks, Omar |

I'd like to thank the Ciscokid, because I've posted a similar question on 'Penny for your thoughts, and got a little response, but nothing compared to what you've got.
Some great ideas, please keep them coming...for both our sakes. On another note, really happy to hear your show went so well for...kudos. Warmest regards Martin |

Thanks Martin,
With kids I mix it up a little as I have found that keeps their interest, one of the routines that received a lot of applause from both kids and adults was what I have coined "Dunk", based on the Russian roulette principle, but with a twist the audience gets to choose, basically I use 5 Styrofoam cups. I start off with one cup full of water and the last cup with a little s***h powder I ask if anyone has played dunk at the carnival where you throw a ball and try to hit the target to dunk someone in water, well I tell them that now we will play dunk Omar and proceed to pour the water from one cup to the other until I have poured it into the last cup. T hen I mix the cups up and ask them to identify the cup with the water and of course I pour it over myself, I do this with each cup in sucession. You get the idea and when I am at the last cup which must have the water (they think), I dumped it out toward the spectators. It was a lot of fun and very interactive Just a little idea Thanks, Omar |
