There is a simply fantastic coins across sequence in this months genii where a coin jumps from a specs hand to the other open palm. I hope some of you guys have seen this. Fantastic thinking from daniel.

I've seen it and you're right, it's very nice. |

Can you give a bit more detail? Is it a single phase/method to make one coin jump to the spectator's hand? I'm just wondering because I've been trying to find different ways to make the last coin go across for my coins across.

It's written as 2 coins in one hand none in the other. One coin visually travels to the specs other hand. If you think about it, it could easily be adapted as say starting 2 and 2 using this method. Plus something else I've thought of today; you could even do 1 meets 3 (final phase). More of a setup would be needed to do it the way I'd do that though.

It's a great idea but I think of it as more of a single phase of something bigger.

For sure. You could easily add it anywhere, or even use it as a strong follow up.

A year or so ago I showed Daniel my "4 Coins, Your Hands" routine. Then he showed me this leap of faith phase of his. It is a very cool looking phase. This phase can integrate nicely with my routine since it is about coins traveling from the spectator's one hand to another. Daniel's phase is does this also. It's one of those, darn, I wish I would have thought of that things

It does look great, though a couple of people have put very similar ideas out there. Eric Jones has a very similar "in the spectator's hands vanish" published in antinomy and the production of the coin... While I don't know where it's published, I've seen John Born, Kainoa Harbottle, John Cornelius and Curtis Kam all do it at some point.
Its a very nice combination of principles applied to a coins across, but in full disclosure a lot of the ideas have been around for a while. (It should also be said that I actually like a lot of daniel's stuff... Just trying to set the record straight here.)

Also Jason Wethington's Giggle Coins Across from his DVD Tied has a nice ending you might want to look into..

What is a good way to practice this trick? I got the initial set up using my wife but she lost interest in holding her hands out palm up after a few mins.
Just curious if anyone has a good method without a live spec. Thanks, Mick |

I know its an old topic, but I bought a pair of rubberhands from a joke shop and practiced with them.
