I just got an e-mail announcing Todd's new DVD "F*** Street Magic." I have some of his earlier e-books and really enjoyed them (Bar Magician). I plan on buying this for the no gimmick NFW, and spellbound routine he has. Did anyone else like his stuff?
I think the innocents should be warned...it looks like the language is strong and the content is adult oriented; but if that doesn't bother you, I think it looks like a good DVD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkGMog9DbQI I can only find one place selling it; it looks like: http://www.blacksmagicgroup.com/index2.php?pageid=fsm

Haven't seen the dvd yet, as it hasn't yet been released. But I've seen some of these routines performed live by Todd, and generally I've seen him perform in close-up, parlour, and on a big stage. What stands out to me about Todd is that he entertains the hell out of people. That's seems to be his prime goal. So he does what so many times we all can forget to do- he puts the audiences enjoyment first. Todd isn't afraid to act crazy, or outrageous, or anything. He's animated and always present (right there with the audience in reality). Todd taught me a lot about performing on stage, and what can I say other then, "He's the real deal." Todd isn't some dude inventing tricks in his basement and then telling you how to do magic. He makes his living 100% on performing for real people, and has for years. So I can't wait to see what he has to share. I'm predicting this will be one of those rare DVDs that will be immensely valuable even if you never perform any of the material. But that said, this is his real working material, which is refreshing.

Needs a new promo, saw nothing original other than he likes to curse when performing, sorry that is not even original any longer. I am sure he is a talented performer just didn't see it there. Oh & why make a magic DVD that has to be labeled with a parental advisory?

Nabil digs him and Black's Magic is behind him. That's good enough for me!

First off it says Classic effects and from the demo the spellbound had an interesting twist that is a fooler. Then the interview with James Dimmare, that will be very interesting as he is a Champion of magic. So I am thinking the information on the dvd will be more than just tricks! Sickmagic |

Todd approached me about doing a DVD that pushed the envelope a little, which I have never been afraid off. He's turned out to be a wonderful friend, full of knowledge, skill, and integrity. The routines are classic working routines with his own spin and presentation style, that he's actually used to produce an income for himself and his family. They are called classics, because by definition they are not original. Hence the choice of words. Because Todd performs for adult audiences, and uses language and scenario based presentation that may be unacceptable for children or young adults, it is our responsibility as a production company to assure appropriate warning is given in advance. Some will enjoy that aspect, and others will not; at the end of the day, consumers purchase what they wish to consume and ignore that which they don't. But Sickmagic is right, one of the most valuable aspect of the production was the interview with James Dimmare, one of magic's true professionals and one of the greatest dove performers in history. BTW, if you've not seen our new site yet, make sure you pop on by. http://www.blacksmagicgroup.com

JC can you give some insight to whats on the DVD besides the interview with Dimmare? I am sure the interview alone is worth the price, however what else is on the DVD magic wise as well as anything else?

Sure, it has three routines: NFW, an Ambitious, and a Spellbound; all of which, as I noted, are effects Todd performs at professional gigs. And each has his touch on performing and presentation, including some things you'll have never seen before developed in association with Joel from High Caliber.

LOVE IT Todd is one of those guys that gets in your head and stays in there. His interaction with spectators is a thing of beuty, as well as the reactions from effects other magicians stopped performing. I can back Nabil up with ever word. Truly a dvd release that will get you looking at magic in a whole new different way. A must have for serious workers, or for those thinking about making any type of living from magic. A dvd from a true professional magician!!!
I get to gaff some cool stuff for some cool people

Finally, someone who actually interacts with spectator and act casual, instead of all high and mighty, going for the script 100% that he'd ignore the spectator and actually performs for himself.
THAT was a great performer. ~ Feras |

Feras,
It does seem like this will be more of a real world experience than a controlled situation. I am personally looking forward to the interview with James Dimmare as well as the humor. I love blue humor and to finally see someone in action like this should be interesting. Sickmagic |

It's a Black's Magic product. They strive for excellence and it shows!
Here's what jumped out to me on the ad: "This DVD not only teaches you these POWERFUL effects but also delivers unparalleled insider's-only views on PERFORMANCE and PRESENTATION". That can be gold to so many entertainers.
