Just a message to anyone who is thinking about buying the flash bills (American version)from the MJM magic website.
I recently read on the Café that someone suggested the bills from MJM magic because the photo that they have on their site shows some very realistic looking bills. Even though I was a little suspicious, I ordered a set (at about twice what the "normal" cheesy bills cost). Well, as I expected, the bills that I received were, in fact, the exact same as the typical, cheesy bills that can be purchased on other sites, as I said, for about half the price. I immediately sent them an email requesting a total refund through my paypal account and will be returning them tomorrow. Apparently, the people who wrote glowing testimonials (yeah...)never purchased the flash bills. Will keep you informed of how they handle this situation. Although, I have to say that they have already lost one customer. I was wondering if anyone else has purchased these bills and would like to hear comments. Thanks, Howard

Howard - I already responded to you in private, but to clarify for the public, the picture on our website was indeed incorrect. After you brought it to our attention, we contacted the supplier and immediately grabbed an updated photo. We have absolutely no problems refunding your entire amount plus return shipping charges, and we apologize for the trouble.
I'm not sure how long that photo was up there, but this is the first complaint I have heard regarding the matter, and it has been dealt with. We do look forward to seeing you again soon though, if there is anything else we can help you with. Hopefully you make your judgment about us by looking at our response to this matter in taking care of our customers rather than the exception (which was an accidental, incorrect photo for a brand of flash bills).

I have been buying from MJM for a few years now and I have had nothing but GREAT service from them. They have the fastest shipping I have ever seen and fantastic customer service! They give a 10% lifetime discount too! I'm a VERY satisfied cusomer...

Jeff is one of the good guys in magic. I've always been very satisfied with my MJM experiences. If you are referring to the Pyrowizard bills, I believe that I actually recommended them in a post from last year, concerning realistic looking flash bills. For obvious reasons any flash bill can only be so realistic looking, and in most cases they are not meant to be scrutinized by your audience. I tend to use them in a folded state (for John Carney's Caligraphic Cash), so the Pyrowizard logo is never an issue for me. Anyway, I'm sorry if my post had anything to do with you feeling misled. I'm glad (but not at all surprised) to see that Jeff is taking such good care of you from a customer service standpoint.

This thread is a great example of turning a negative into a positive. Thanks to Jeff Mash's prompt and reasonable response to a problem and all of the other positive posts from Café members, I just placed my first order with MJM. I'd love to find a local brick and mortar magic store to patronize again, but they never seem to have what I want in stock when I'm looking for something. I live in the Los Angeles area, and can usually find what I want within reasonable driving distance, but sadly this doesn't seem to apply to magic. At least MJM is still in California, so I can have the pleasure of paying sales tax to help fix the potholes so the UPS truck will make it through. How's that for being positive!

I also ordered these $1 flash bills because of the realistic picture. Needless to say the bills didn't look realistic at all. I've had great service from MJM in the past. I'm glad this has been dealt with. I'm going to use these fake looking flash bills in my practice sessions.
Check out Viking magic for some truly realistic looking flash bills. Yes, they do look real. Yes, I do have these. |

Jeff, just by how you handled that complaint has just won you a new customer.
you could have flamed him but you opted to make it right, and then take responsibility for a simple mistake. Your customer service from what I am seeing from you and the glowing testimonials are more then enough to let me know I want you to have my money. Michael |

I live in Canada and have found MJM to be fast, courteous and professional in my dealings with them.

I just received my first order from MJM Magic (Trevor Duffy Magic Mat). I ordered another item from another highly touted dealer four days before placing the MJM order. I have not received that item, and my phone calls have not been responded to. I will definately use MJM again!
