Greetings dear entertainers
I am trying to compile some silly forfeits to add to my list (only just started this list - The forfeits to be used for the child to win a prize of some kind during the games section of my show. examples: describe a bogey look at me for 10 seconds and don't laugh tell this banana you love them (make it convincing) some I have aren't on the funny side: hop around the circle in 10 seconds spell your name backwards name the days of the week backwards from Sunday say red lorry yellow lorry, 3 times fast anyway - you get the idea if anyone has any others to add (funny/silly optional!) thanks |

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what a silly forfeit is even with your description. What is the point of doing this? Are these challenges you give to the kids and if they can do them then they get a prize, like asking someone to pat their head and rub their stomach at the same time?

All I know is that if a magician ever tells my daughter to tell his banana that she loves it convincingly... I'm heading for my shotgun

A forfeit is something you have to do as a consequence either of getting something wrong or not achieving something.
I think Chris if you delve into Open Sesame (Lewis and Tyler published by Goodliffe) and David Hallet's Profit at the Party (published Supreme Magic 1980s) you will find forfeit type material. My favourite, though not for children, is to try to say three times very quickly: Shut up the shutters And sit in the shop

I do something like this but different. I have fun by hosting a game and having the kid against a parent or adult. The kid always gets his question (pulled randomly from a clear bag) right and the adult always gets it wrong. The kids questions are always os easy while the adults are very hard or next to impossible to answer.
What makes this fun is that the kid and the adult get to mix up the cards and get to pick them freely from the clear bag. So from the auciences perspective everything looks totally fair. It gets loads of laughs and empowers the child. I use things like: Ok here is your question kid... What is your name? Ok dad give me the square root of 1,506,765 and you have 3 seconds Ok kid what color is the RED (said long and drawn out) apple? stuff like that. In a game format it is just really funny. I use it to determine which one of them has to place their finger in my Viking Magic "Impossible Penetration" to test their bravery and strength. It just is a funny and comical lead in that works really good. You might be able to adapt the idea to other things. The cards and questions can be anything you eant them to be. Kyle

Thanks. I love using the concept and have adpated it a bit. It just goes over so well and can be a great lead in for a variety of routines I use. I do a lot of shows that are all family-focused so this workswellto be able to get a dad and a son up together to compete for fun and prizes lol.

I like the game idea. The kids always love being the winner over the adults.
The kids should always be the winners and the stars of the show. B-Rad
