I just saw a photo of The fly teleportation illusion on chris stolz site, don drake site has no description of the effect, anyone seen this effect or know what the presentation is,
The reason I ask is I saw a effect in a illusion book that looks like the exact same trick.

Chris was never asked
Have a look at the page for the Miracle Wall on Don's website. If you scroll down you'll see a photo and a description of the effect. http://www.blackartsecrets.com/catalog1/utility_stage.htm Best, Chris.

Hi Will,
Here is the description from Don's website: ************** Stage Setting: The stage is empty except for one long black backdrop and two empty glass boxes. The boxes are 8 feet apart and raised about a foot or two off of the stage, so the audience can see underneath them. Just before performing, the performer can have several spectators come up on stage around the boxes to determine they are empty and to see there is no connection between the boxes! Effect: An assistant is presented to the audience. A truly random spectator comes up on stage and signs his/her name on her arm with a magic marker. The spectator returns to the audience. The assistant enters the box on stage left. It fills with fog. The box on the other side of the stage fills with fog as well. A fantastic movement of light rays and laser beams flow from box one to box two. As the fog clears, the assistant has teleported to the other box, half a stage away! Performance note: You can just cover the boxes with a cloth a well, but the fog looks so much better! Afterwards, the same spectators can come up on stage and examine everything. That is because there is nothing to be found! Except the signature on your assistant's arm! No mirrors, no trap doors, no duplicates, nothing! The magician and assistant bow to a thunderous applause! ************** This method comes from his Miracle wall prop available at http://www.procraftillusions.com

Though I've never seen a video of the illusion, I can't say for sure whether or not one exists. Your best bet is to contact Don.

Check out the osborne plans for "flyto" and "laser flyto" at http://www.osborneillusionsystems.com
while I don't know if they're the exact same, the basic method is the same, and the shadows in "flyto" are much cooler than fog...

Quote: Thanks, though similiar, The osborne plans are not what I was refering to, I saw the teleportation effect in a different book, that looks like the methods used as the fly teleportation.
