The definition of a professional magicain is making all of your income from magic so if you do stand in front of a mirror and practise 6 hours a day for a year and you make all of your money from magic than you are a professional however if you end up sitting in front of the mirror for 6 hours everyday for a year and you do not do magic for a living than you are not a proffesional but I do agree with you when you say that you are still a beginner if you have been doing magic for a year and you are a proffesional.

Right now I'm just doing magic for the pure fun of it. I like buying the tricks figuring stuff out and learning to do new things. Will I ever make a living with magic....nope but its a great hobby and keeps me out of trouble.
