I am anxious to pursue the wiles of the new Luna effect from Outlaw, but in the meantime, I must say that I am nightly, in a new private and secret venue, making people jump right out of their chairs with a little "booktest" I picked up not too long ago from Outlaw.
It is called Sinister and it is making people very, very scared. Zoran

As with all Outlaw effects Sinister is one of a line of powerfull book tests. Each performer can make his/her presentation unique.

I would love to hear your experiences with this Zoran and anyone else who may be using it...
I've had it for about 2 months now with Homicide and Whitechapel - U.K. versions -and I finally got round to looking at them properly last night as I've been working on learning Witches and S2/3... I love them soooooo much. The look, the methodology, everybloodything... They are a complete macarbre act, I can't wait to put them to use. I visited the forums for these books for the first time as well yesterday and there are some great ideas from the likes of Doug Higley and Dr Specktor to name a couple. I know for sure I'm going to have a lot of fun with these... I especially love the way the Homicide and Pawnbroker book tie in together and as does the Sinister book - in a different way - and that they are based around or set in the infamous Whitechapel area. They really are very special. I have all Outlaw booktests and I thought Dekranom was my favourite but now I don't know because they all set a different tone and have a wonderful variety of themes and ways that they can be performed. Today I spent the day looking at a murder site that someone posted on the Outlaw forum to get ideas for the Murderers and victims, I wish I could say it was as much fun as doing research for other Outlaw effects but I am left with a feeling of sadness at what people do to each other. Anyway one good thing did come out of it, its a quote that will start my act and set the tone and theme... " One day men will look back and say I gave birth to the Twentieth Century. " Any guesses???

I have much to say about this...I was thinking about posting it in the Inner Thoughts but (1) I am not up to the requisite amount of posts yet, and more importantly (2) It belongs in a private place reserved for other "Sinners" only.
So for you Sinnies, check out what I have on the Outlaw special forum...it will make people shake. Zoran

I too love Sinister. I used it at a Holloween show las year and it rocked. I will be buying Luna soon as well. I cannot wait to use these this year again with my Reel Ghost. Imagine a ghostly touch of a spectator's neck after performing one of these great book tests. Just an idea. Ryan

Not too long ago, Joel Bauer and Mark Levy wrote a book called How to Persuade People Who Don't Want To Be Persuaded.
It's a remarkable book full of techniques that are very useful for the working mentalist. The book opens with a beautiful strategy called "The Frighten Challenge." This technique is SO good for use with Sinister (and many other routines as well.) I highly recommend the book, but fortunately, another technique they teach is "Sampling" (Not in the Diddy way, but in the "give a taste for free" way). That means that the first chapter, which opens with the "Frighten Challenge" is free for you to read at: http://www.levyinnovation.com/index.php?id=85 Enjoy! DT3 |

Thanks for that DT3, I like it a lot and the technique could be used with a few Outlaw Effects.
Zoran couldn't see your post on the forum, am I missing something? Cheers...

I must be me cuz I still can't see owt...
I would love to hear some stories though from people who have used any of the Outlaw Trilogy. The way the 3 books tie into one story with 2 different outcomes dependant on the karma of the audience. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiccccccccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeee.... These books are so frickin cool...

Thank you for that insightful information DT3.
It took me a couple of days to get to it, but I was delighted when I did. Flowing smoothly in the loop Scar |

I have not have had as much time to post as I would like lately due to my new book, but hopefully I'll squueze some time in on my upcoming days off. Rick has delivered to me Reflections, Sinister and Homocide. ALL are incredible, but it is Sinister that I have been working with the most. This is merely the fact that I started working with this book first, and not a reflection on the other two. I work in law enforcement, in New York State, so it is incredible for me to actually have: "New York State Dept. Of Criminal Justice" written on the cover...this is going to be kept at my office at work and will be an instant conversation piece. I have made some...modifications....to my copy that aid with a couple of effects. I'll be posting those soon on the Outlaw Forums. Here is a hint of one: The Detective that used to own this copy is named "SNR.DET. T.V. Anjacks" And Marlene died of strangulation. Poor girl....

To clarify, the "SNR DET" in the above has nothing to do with the anagram (which is now right out in the open for me to use a crib!) and simply means "Senior" as in senior detective. The anagram is the "T.V. Anjacks" A Slavac name, I believe...
I have some further notes that the "former" owner" may have pencilled in that I'll post at the appropriate forum. Bryn
