Will, outside of Copperfield's Flying (which isn't quite 'levitation'), I don't recall seeing one. Most spectators don't notice that it's only 350 degrees. It's an interesting concept- I can think of a few methods that might work, some of which would allow unlimited rotations around the magician. I'd need to puzzle out the details first, though, to see how practical they'd be.

The important thing for me, in a “360 Levitation” or “360 Suspension”, is that it not appear that the person is “floating’ on a pivot-point, this is an inherent weakness in most commercial versions, I feel this is more serious than it being 350 degrees or a full-circle.
What we tend to loose site of in wanting to make our suspensions/levitations more spectacular or unique, while being portable or affordable… is that all clues to any possible method must be ruled out psychologically by the audience! Then they are right-brain focused, and can be put into a state of Wonder and amazement, rather than in a left-brain puzzle solving mode. Magically, Walt |

An Interesting thought here would be to have the levitatee spining during a levitation. Not rotate around the magician mind you but spininng either head over heels repeatedly or spinning like atop during the levitation at the will of the magician.

A couple of the items in the Armstrong book can produce that effect.
The question is what does it actually add to the audience's perception of what is going on. Another question -- why is it important to have a "true 360 degree levitation"? Is someone from the audience going to come up and measure it? A stonecutter was once asked how to carve an elephant out of a piece of stone. His reply was "You take a piece of stone and cut away the parts that don't look like an elephant." He did not add, "then you stop, before it looks like a horse." If you can sell what you do as being a floating person, the audience will add a lot more to it than if you make it look like a big puzzle. Regarding the estimate off the miniature model -- double that estimate, and you will be closer to a realistic figure. I know a lot of people who build things of this nature. There are always factors that people forget to add in. Remember scale stress points don't have the same ultimate effect as the real ones.

If you haven't seen it, try to see Jason Latimire's levitation. It pretty much starts out as a standard aga-looking levitation, but then the entire platform revolves 360 degrees and you see the levitation on all sides. It looks a lot like the effects in the Matrix movies. It is very amazing.

I should point out that Jason's levitation is not a marketed illusion. He performs it in his act and it is a large and I imagine very expensive piece of equipment.
