Can someone please help me. A while ago Mr Angel performed a vanish on the street from under a rubbish bin. People stood all the way around the bin, but he still vanished and appeared else where. Do any of you know if there is a book explaining this method?
Thanks Harry |

I am very sure it was a made for TV illusion, meaning its method is not practical unless you're doing a TV special and have stooges.

I agree with eddie, some are camera tricks and stuff like that...
If there is such a trick, it is wonderful...Hope some one will post some material here if there is such an illusion.. Best Regards Symmatrix

I will word this, as to not get in trouble for, "revealing" it. Look at the people behind the bin, and as they are counting, watch where their eyes go. You can figure the rest out.

Yes, it is a Made for TV illusion. The spectators in the front of him are legit but the ones on the sides and to the back are faked. Nice idea though. It works for lay people and that is really the point.

Yes, I know it kind of sets us "normal" magicians back. If someone asks you to do something they see "made for tv" you should be enough of a showman to devirt their attention on to something else or do a spin off. If we are presenting magic to the public we should be aware and prepared that we might have to "float" like David Blanie. Personally I think it is great for magic and makes us set our standards higher than if someone wasn't out there doing "miracles" and making us be aware.
cheers. Leon

In order for this to work, you must make lots of friends and travel in pacts.

There should be no issue as to wether or not you could duplicate what someone on t.v. does. You are your own performer and do what is suited to you. If someone asks tou to do what they see on television simply tell them I don't perform Chris's magic or David blaines magic. I perform "MY" magic. If you thought what they did was good, just wait until you see what I do. Be ready to back this up of course.
As performers we should be original. Ronald R. Romiski:handcuffs: |
