So I do it for my kids. Phase 1, I ask "So where is the Ace?"
My kid grabs the middle card and flips it over.

That was fun.

Grr....I definitely need lessons in audience control.

Good lesson - handling kids is very different to adults - that is why many magicians stay away from kids . . .

I have had an issue with someone picking up the card. So I tell them this is a recreation on the gambling hustle and the punters aren't allowed to touch the cards. Just to place their bet in front of the selected card (if we were playing for money). I also keep the cards close so I can intercept any sneaky people. But If I even get a hint that they will find out the gaffs, I'll just do a regular 3 card monte or color monte. In my expirience though, this trick will absolutely kill the audience. Just don't do Bill Malone's handeling. Find your own story to tell. Hope this helps!

When watching Bill Malone do this it's one thing that's easy to forget: The spectator he uses (the guy in the red shirt, I forgot his name. He is in many of the videos on youtube) is every magicians wet dream. He never touches, grabs or try to steal a peek. So when Malone put the cards down he can repeatedly ask "Are you sure", the spectator getting aggravated and frantically *pointing* to the card in despair... but he never touch.

Sadly, that spectator doesn't come with the trick I guess Smile

That's the very much one of a kind David. As you say, the no. 1 spectator in the world! Followed very closely in position no. 2 by John...

I don't agree.
It's because it's bill Malone.
And his character, timing, build up and character make it seem like the most normal thing in the world.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, what is it specifically about his character, timing and build up that you think allows him to get away with it?

I think it's because everything bill does is entertaining.
it's kind of an instinct thing.

But I'm 95% sure that that's the way Bill would do it in real life.
why don't you ask him?

he's replied to my emails before so I'm sure he would to you.

Two questions I have Skinners and love it. Ok here is the two questions
1. Where can you buy just the cards and can you buy Jumbo Cards?
2. h_A_Z How would you do it in the hand?

Thanks in advance

Question 1. Make your own. Don't know if you can get them in jumbo size. Do you have a jumbo thumb?

Question 2. With extreme prudence. I.E. Spectator Management. Think of it this way. If a spec has a card face down on the palm of each hand, how does she turn it over?
