Show business... I think some are more passionate about the business and others more passionate about the show maybe... but passion is passion... no?

Interesting slant...I would think that for many of us that performing is more for the show part (passion of performing) versus passion of the money. It's not like we're all getting rich doing this!LOL

That must be why so many of us are excited about getting bookings, and others of us are excited about doing booking.

I don't think you could do both without loving both...I love my career, and I love the money. I'd like MORE money, and nothing wrong with that! Artists don't have to be "starving artists" to be artists.

Yeah, Al, as if you (or many of us, probably) needed help!

I am not so interested in the business side, personally I would love to just do shows and let others worry about the business, but with out the business side it would be close to impossible to do the show side, unless you are independently wealthy. (I am not) and I have grown acustom to living indoors and eating three squares a day (ok so I may eat a little more than that) and my family pretends to like me more when I bring home money. I love the line do what you are pasionate about and the money will follow, that might be in a perfect world but we all know this is not one. if it were everyone who followed their dream would fulfill it and of course that also is not the case, Right? even the quote from this thread was from a guy who hardly found success with his passion in his time... no?
I am just rambling and agree in principle to what all have said... just playing devils advocate a bit. Rich
