Right now I'm using Bosco's, and they work fine, but the extra height really adds nothing in my opinion. Actually, it detracts somewhat.
Is there a cup that anyone knows off the top of their head that has a 3" id mouth, and can take a baseball. I don't want the cup tottering because the ball won't quite fit all the way. Any help would be appreciated.

Gary Animal's "Babes" assuming you can find them. Also Cellini's are rumored to take a baseball although just barely.

There are also different sizes of baseballs. A little league baseball, for example, might fit a larger selection of cups.

Off the top of my head, the ones I can think of are:
RnT2 - Jumbo Street & Stage Cups RnT2 - Paul Fox-style Chick cups RnT2 - Gazzo cups Van Dokkum - Jumbo cups Cellini cups (but as Dave says, it's a tight fit - need to take the cups to the store with you) Christian Jedinat - I think he does a Jumbo version of his cups Magic Makers - Mega cups (copper/brass) I think Gary Animal has finished a run of cups and will start selling them shortly. I don't know if they're all spoken for, though. The Babe cup is a great size if you can get it.

It is such a nice and weird time where you can order a set of cups that elopquently handle baseballs that your grandkids will evenutally appreciate. But since I know Gary is tooling up I suppose now is the time to give him your best sales pitch. I've been doing my best respectifully to get a set of mega-thick Loves from Gary. Now I'll resort to begging - please let me know if you have anything of yours in mega-thick?

My Babes were like the Cellini's. You had to go shopping with them to get a fit.
The Animal cups, which I now use a slightly bigger and will always take a baseball.

Just as matter of interest, unless you're performing for a big crowd where visibility from afar is a factor, why would you want a baseball sized load to begin with? Why not a smaller load, say, a tennis ball size down to, say, a lacrosse ball size? Easier to load (for average-sized hands),less flash prone and just as impactful for close-up magic as a baseball sized load...............right?

Don Allen used a baseball as a final load for a very short while. He found that a tennis ball was more instantly recognizable (especially to women, to whom he played) so did away with the baseball.

Harry I read that too, about don alan. I am doing a chop cup and I don't get the feeling that people have a problem with a baseball. here in the netherlands they don't know I a baseball like the americans.

I agree that tennis balls are more practical than baseballs. Baseballs are fine if you're loading from a pouch.
The only other thing I'd say about baseballs is that the style of the seam can make a big difference. Some balls are sold with a raised seam and others with a flat seam. The raised seam can be enough to cause problems fitting into the cup.

I saw him do a lot of trade show work, and each time I saw him he used one of those red Cressite dog balls. I also have one of the Rings and Things chop cups he used, with the red Cressite dog ball. That was his final, final load of choice. A tennis ball is an excellen final load, for a number of reasons.
