As It comes around to my 3 year mark as a member in good standing. I have been doing some soul searching. And reflecting on what my membership means to me. Magic has always been a special part in my life. I started studing when I was 14 and now I am 27. The main reason why I joined was to be involved and be apart of a group that would help me grow as a performer and as an artist. You see in Cincinnati, Ohio where I live you have 2 choices for magic groups to join. One was the SAM and one was the IBM. I went to the IBM meetings and it just turned out being all lectures. The SAM turned out to be a workers club. And that appealed to me as a performer. So I joined assembly 11 and I could not have been happier. I love being a part of a group on the local level. I am still the new guy in the group but I am the sergent of Arms for this term and I am going to run for Secertary for the next term. I loved giving back and for me the SAM is the perfect example of that. As a Society we should still be striving to be the main voice in the world of Magic. Plus I truly feel a bond with other SAM members. We have a National President that goes out of her way to make everyone in the Society feel welcome and apart of a great and grand tradition. So thank you Maria. Also our RVP's and deputy RVP's go out of there ways. Make us feel part, so Thank you to Charlie,Paul, and Artie. I feel a sense of pride in knowing that I am on a local board that is under the govern of a National Council that has so much history behind it. We have many great programs, and chances to get involved and I looking forward to a long and wonderful working relationship with the SAM.
Trick is in the Name!
