Working w copper coins will restore the tarnished look to shiny new. Unfortunately if you don't work your gaffed coins to the same extent as their non-gaffed duplicates, the difference begins to show, removing the similarities when you switch one for the other.
Any solutions? I know some manufacturers 'tone' the coins to look tarnished to prevent this as well as to make the coins distinctly darker than silver coins for various effects involving both. For this reason I'd prefer a darker coin that won't 'shine up' by use. Thanks! |
