I'm looking for a rope through body to end my street show. Does anyone know what this routine is and where I can learn it??

I do not want to use gimmicked rope eg hang em high

if you can't wait you can find the trick in in tarbell or hugard's magic manual.

There is a rope through neck in volume four. I think it's called the Chinese Tape trick.

I did a phantom knot to make a scarf go through a table leg for my niece. A few days later, her mother said she saw her wrapping the scarf around the table leg, going "Ta Da!" and pulling on one corner to make the scarf come off.

I don't do ropes through the neck anymore, I'm just not comfortable with it.

These (and hundreds more) are in Daryl's DVD of Rope Magic and Abbotts Encyclopedia.

For a number of years I used Tenkai's "Decapitation" from the Encyclopedia of Rope Magic (brought to you by the fine folks at Dover). All you need it about 8 feet of rope and and the ability to tie a knot.

One caveat - I went off the effect for a few years then came back to it, but was pulling the ropes... incorrectly. (Hint: pull OUT not FORWARD.) This resulted in some rather unpleasant 1st and 2nd degree rope burns on the back of my neck.

Moral: Always Reread Instructions when coming back to a trick.

I actually like to pull the rope forward, it tightens and nearly makes it impossible to go thru the neck.

This for me is the sell, it really seems like I'm doing something truly stupid, that is until the little kids pull the right way and pop...the rope goes thru.

If you are a member of The Lecture Network there is a lecture by Jeff Hobson. In the lecture he does and explains a great rope penetration of three people from the audience. It's a good routine.

Yes, although it's a double-ribbon penetration of 3 kids. . it can be done with rope. I'll also be coming out with a DVD teaching it sometime this fall.

Thank you!
