I was just curious about what you guys thought might be a good way to climax a rope routine AFTER you've cleaned up a SP segment (think Fibre Optics if you don't know what I mean).
I want to get something to five phases, and ideally I want the fifth phase to be done with a single, examinable length of rope. The start is with a single, examinable length, and moves into plucking a false knot of a knot on the rope, and then I move into a three-phase SP sequence (think Fibre Optics if you don't know what that means) -- reach into the pocket to get scissors, grab SP, come out apparently empty handed, ask spectator to make finger scissors, they cut the rope (Phase 1), I restore it (Phase 2), and then I do the clean-up to the pocket where the ends and the middle switch places (Phase 3). I would like to add something to that as a climax, but I'm stuck for ideas. I know Aldo Colombini does the penetrating hankerchief, but I don't like it as an effect (I'm sure it plays well, though). I also don't want to overdo the SP sequences (such as plucking the ends off the rope, etc.), I like the set of 3 that I've got. I'd honestly appreciate any suggestions for a climax that involves a single length of rope, no SP, and that plays stronger than the SP stuff I originally described... (Yeah yeah, I know I wrote all those rope DVD reviews... doesn't mean I know anything...) |

Daryl's rope routine has a segment with just a single piece.
hunter bow not, appearing knot, etc. Or Daryl's jumping knot of pakistan (or whatever it's called now)? Of course you'd have to have Daryl's red rope for that.

Frank, I was actually thinking of opening with the plucked-off knot sequence. Do you think it's strong enough to close with, after a C&R and ends-middle switch?

Al,
Think s***t P***e, which probably isn't any clearer. Kind of like visiting a house of ill-repute when you are really in a hurry. Andy

Ian,
You're not supposed to like puns. If successful, they should make you groan. Finally found my set of linking ropes and will get going on your wonderful routine. Andy

Rope through neck?
Snap knot? Rope to snake? (We discussed a few ideas here once - I think something like the Neff trick method might work.)

The hunter bow knot coming off in the spectators hands has been very strong for me, and of course it does require ringing in a gimmick. I have only been working with rope for a couple of years, so there is probably better advice to be had.
