How are you doing at finding the rules you live with that may work only in your inner world?

I'm not sure if this is a rule but I keep this bit of the Serenity Prayer in mind:

"Grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference. "

Jaz, when does that come to find for you?
...to all the coins I've dropped here

Yeah, Jaz. Quit being elusive, man. Tell the story.

:bg:
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.

And what happens after that prayer comes to mind?
...to all the coins I've dropped here

Here's one that I live with: "If I visualize it exactly, that's not what is actually going to happen". Sort of an internal version of "jinxing" a thing by talking about it.

What's happening in your inner world?

I think this qualifies: My day job often involves construction or repair of objects I've never previously worked on, which can be both stimulating and nerve wracking. This past week I've noticed that when on such construction jobs, my inner world involves an ongoing "dialog" of this sort:

"1] Aw, geez, I've never done _____ before - what have I gotten myself into? 2] Wait a minute, _______, while new in total, is composed of parts that will need only existing resources (skills and tools); 3] Past jobs, which were also similarly new, were successfully completed; 4] Odds on this one look pretty good."
