I've had a Scotch and Soda set for several years and have enjoyed preforming it. I thought about investing in an Ultimate Silver & Copper set from Johnson, but was wondering if it was worth it. Knowing that one uses a Mexican coin and the other uses an English coin, what are the advantages/ disadvantages of one verses the other? What is your opinion?
Thanks for your help.... allen |

The english coin is more to the size of a half, therefore the seam is less visible....i suggest you go for the magnetic scotch and soda by johnson....well worth it.

Allen, the main advantage of Ultimate C/S is the compatibility with the standard Hopping Halves set.
He who wonders discovers that this in itself is wonder.

What's the difference between the magnetic Scotch and Soda by Johnson and a regular Scotch and Soda by Johnson other than one's magnetic?

It eliminates the need for a bang ring and it also comes with a magnetic english penny

I love the magnetic scotch and soda. Put a Bat in your back pocket and you can do some amazing routines.
The Bat would be a holdout for the magnetic coins that come with the set just in case you don't know what a Bat does. |

Since the USC uses coin of very similar size, I think the silver side of the c/s looks more realistic than that of the SnS (not as trimmed down).
There is a nice routine on the 25 Tricks w/a SnS DVD that has you briefly showing that c/s by itself, called ~Bill Swindle
