Greetings;
Robert is correct in that these cards are not the standard Bicycle stock. When I first saw this on U.S. Playing Card Co. site I thought, great, now I can get decks of certain cards printed that my customers wanted. Unfortunately when I contacted them about getting as many as 50 decks at a time of split faces and such, they informed me that they cannot do that type of card and I would have to talk to the custom printing division (back to the 10,000 deck minimum). From what I understood in talking with them, that these decks can be printed with a company logo and such for a corpoirate gig, or used as a giveaway (although expensive to do so) for a wedding or special event. Susan the girl at U.S. Playing Card did send me a sample deck that was printed with a picture of a resort on the back of the deck. My findings: The stock is more brittle than standard Bicycle and the cards were cut way off center (could be the reason it was sent as a sample deck). The ink was actually somewhat tacky on the backs and as I handled the cards some of the color was actually sticking to my fingertips. I have talked to my contact that I use to get my decks printed and have been told that these cards are actually done by an outside source as they do not have the time to do them there. The reason they are offerring this service is due to the demand. The nicest quality low run decks that I have seen came from Tombstone Card co. They will print anything you want, as long as you are willing to pay the set up fees and take 50 to 100 decks. The quality is not bad, good stock, and very good printing. The downside to Tombstone Card Co. - You will not have backs that you are familiar with, and the faces will not match anything you are using now. The size is slightly wider than a bicycle poker card as well. Now you may be wondering why I mentioned them if they have those downsides. If you do a riverboat gambler theme, or want to have your monte sets, and other cards done up to look like old west playing cards or civil war style cards, then this company can definately do a very nice job for you, but it will cost a bit to get them done. I have seen cards by CardMaker and Card-Shark both, and if you are in the market for just a couple custom printed decks with anything your heart desires, I strongly suggest contacting both of these gentlemen as their work is excellent. Just my two cents worth, for whatever it is worth to you. All the Best Marty |

Ok, so what is the consensus on getting a deck with a custom BACK design?

Contacting me
My minimum quantity is ONE SINGULAR deck. That´s all. And if you like you could even add some matching gaffs like double backers or double facers to your order. The size of the cards is Bicycle conform, also the corner roundings. They have the same paper quality, only the finish is different so that I can print on them. At the moment I have printed standard face decks with blank backs so it will be easy to print customized backed decks. The faces are the same as the ones used by Bicycle, only the ace of Spades and the Joker looks different, due to copyright issues that I fully agree with. There is also demand to get special printed faces in a whole deck. That is much more effort as every single card has to be arranged. But I do not want to say that this is impossible. In fact I am just in the middle of a preparation to offer such service. To keep the costs down for you you should be able to send a complete PDF file using my desired template, whatever software you want to use for it. But printing custom faces for a low price is only a beta phase as I have to see how much effort it really will be. The cards - due to their different finish - do not fan that good like Bicyle but they will like such. And if you treat them with only a minimum quantity of fanning powder they handle like a charm. If you have any questions about an upcoming project feel free to contact me by PM, mail or Skype. Christian

Has anyone ever purchased a custom gaffed deck from the USPCC? Yesterday, the minimum was 5,000 decks for having US Playing Cards. The price each is $1.55. They will tack on a $710-910 artwork charge, even if you submit camera ready. The artwork charge for a custom box is $160-260. Depends whether you want hard copy or PDF. First step before *anything* is to submit all your finished artwork to their legal department. They own the art on the fronts and backs, and they are picky what you do with their property. I'm told they have recently become even more particular. Apparently some current gaff decks would NOT pass the new legal guidelines, but are still produced because they are "reprints". USPC can be a pain to work with. Try Tina Donlin at 513-396-5880. TommyKay |

I used a few online companies before and found that http://www.printerstudio.com does the best quality in printing playing cards. I suppose the main difference that I am noticing is the black layer between the cards that make them no-see through and also they're fully bendable from end to end without creasing.
