Stan Payne I believe came by the Star Magic name from Frank Thomas who was one of the partners in the Star Magic when Schlosser was located in Youngstown, Ohio. Thomas ended up in Portland running the Janzen company properties. He did advertise once that I have found. Then Stan Payne showed up with the name so I suspect he bought the name from Thomas.

Later the Star Magic Co (Stan Payne's company) became Gem Magic Mfg. Co. Now Gem Magic Mfg. is under Viking Magic Co.
