So I was just looking at leeasher.com and saw that David Stone has put out a new book about close up magic. I did not know if any of you might have it and if so what are your thoughts before I buy it.

Based on David’s DVD’s it would have to be nothing less than great! For someone as young as he is David has a lot of wisdom and insight for the restaurant and walk around performer, and his skill and technique is superb. I would say it’s a safe buy; I'll definitely pick one up.
Thanks for the heads-up, Steven |

David had this for sale at the Blackpool magic convention but I didn't pick one up. Since then I've heard nothing but good things about it. It got a rave review in magicseen this month and lets face it if can help turn you into anything like the performer David is then its got to be worth a read.

I agree all the way up until you said "To turn you in a performer like David". I really do like his stuff and I have learned a lot (not just effects) from his dvds. But I do not think that it is or goal to be like other magicians. Be yourself man but other then that you are on the dot.

I have the French version of this book...because I live in France!
I would strongly stroNGLY STRONGLY advise anyone who wants to be or already is a close up/walk-around performer to BUY THIS BOOK TODAY!!! In fact, I would go as far as to say that you should buy this book before you buy Kirk Charles books or Mark Leveridge's book (whose a personal friend, so sorry Mark), or any other books on 'how to get the gigs and perform close up'. Just do yourself the biggest ever favour of your life...BUY IT...RIGHT NOW!!! Actually NO, DON'T buy this book...that way, I can keep all the secrets for myself! |

I am about half way through it and it is great. An easy read with lots of great information about all areas of performing closeup.

I would be very surprised if this book wasn't good. The Real Secrets of Magic DVD is one of the best videos on magic I have ever watched.

David Stone "Gets it". I've only just begun to read it and already I've picked up some great tips. This book belongs on your shelf right next to Ken Weber's Maximum Entertainment. Bought it from Lee Asher and got it in two days!

No it is a real book but there is a pdf download included if you purchase from Lee
Ashers site. It is not only a good book but a helluva funny one at that!
