I bought this effect about 3 months ago. When it arrived I was shocked to see how bad the quality was. The holes were not drilled in the center, so when you put the gimmick together the holes didn't always line up, rendering the effect useless.
I decided maybe one bad one slipped through the system, so I ordered another one from a different dealer. This one was even worse than the first. The holes were drilled right, but it had a dent on the penny side that was very very noticeable. This dent was big enough that the coins would not nest together, rendering this useless as well. I know this sells for only $20.00, and it would probably be easy to make your own. In my opinion it still doesn't justify a useless product. Im surprised as I always thought that the Viking brand was one of quality. |

If you like this type of coin on a string effect, take a look at Mark Mason's "Hung, Drawn, and Quartered" (with all Marks coins rumored to be made by Auke Van Dokkum).
Done well, this effect is a complete fooler, doubly so if the coin left on the string can be shown about afterwards. |

I have checked into this effect. My concerns are that it uses a magnet instead of locking together like a scotch and soda style effect. Also, the price seems a bit steep.
I may save up and take the chance on it though. I have read some mixed reviews on the quality of the coins as well. |

My experience has been that Mark Masons coin products are uniformly excellent, his "Miracle Chip", which is really a Coin Unique with poker chips, can be handed out if you're so inclined.....there's nothing to see the work is so good.
The Miracle Chip uses a magnetic lock, and it never releases unless I release it. I haven't got Hung, Drawn and Quartered, but have seen it performed by a fellow magi....with good "hand acting" it's an excellent piece of pocket magic. It's on my "to buy' list |

Thanks for the info! I think I will go ahead and start saving then, as I really like the idea of removing a coin from the string. It plays well with another routine I do.
