Just a thought here.
Say you were to put breathers into 8 cards, much like you might do with pegs, so that the combination of 5 cards would either be quads or a full house - lets assume queens and jacks. Say the breathers are put in with the cards face down - so that you cut naturally below them. Now if you "shuffle" but retain/cull a number of the breathers together somewhere in the deck. With this method you can relatively proficiently gain a break to centre deal from DURING the process of dealing the card. This is helped by beveling the deck forwards over your first finger - the centre deal I'm using is a sort of sudo-Kennedy styled deal. I agree at the card table this seems like a bit too much work - but in a demonstration this would be conclusive "proof" you have memeorised the cards order and are dealing from different parts of the deck as you could lose the break after every deal and show "no bends or briefs in the deck". I wondered if anyone else used this idea in their card demos? I realise that with second deals and other ruses you can create the impression that you centre deal cards out from different places (Ortiz's God Of Gamblers springs to mind) but this to me almost seems too strong to be anything but a closer to an act because it sort of nullifies anything else you do because it makes you inhuman whereas this technique seems a bit less all encompassing. Thoughts/flames? |

The Greek philosophers, in an early age, asserted the dignity of physical inquiry and demonstration. Is this a concept, an mere idea, or can you actually demonstrate it for us?

Well - no not well.
I mean it would take a bit of practice, and I've only been fiddling around with it for a few days. I just wondered if any of you had pursued a similar idea and found it to be good/bad/explosively awful? I know that its possible - if a little clunky at the moment. |

That’s fair enough, nothing wrong with telling us an idea. Testing though is everything as we never know what will or not work until put to the test. The idea sounds ambitious and difficult to imagine someone achieving it.

Depends how deceptive it needs to be - it would serve as a good "explanation" of fake centre deal effects if you show it as the "magician" method and then flip to a false centre deal for the mega-super-secret "gambler" method.
