What profession you think was first, mentalism, magic, or some other?

But magic started using props. Mentalism needed no props. Mentalism could of been before magic using thoughts of the mind but probably called "magic".

I think the distinction between "magic" and "mentalism" is one of the illusions that this community has created for its own members.
Magic originated by the fire of the shaman's. Conjuring was used in shamanistic rituals, but isn't the "spirit traveling to another world and seeing visions of the future" an ultimate form of mentalism ? In seperating the two, we haven't served magic well, I bellieve ! |

Yep that would be the answer. Prostitution is called the oldest profession

I think he meant "among the magical arts". But then again, prostitution could be the answer in that category, too, as some dirty mind behind me whispers.

This brings up the story of Candy Diablo, the first magic hooker.
Her biography is told with great charm by the whimsical Michael Roark and is available on Amazon. Great story that's worth the read. D |
