I am looking to build a set of deceptive steps and a deceptive base. I have purchased many illusion design books and no blue prints come detailed enough to really build these items, does anybody know where I might be able to get something like this??? Please give me any input at all!

Get the Rand Woodbury Illusion works #1 video it is all about steps and bases and will show you exactly how to construct these items.

Well when I got the illusionworks video it doesn't tell the size of trap, it tells you the size of the table but not the hole cut into the table. So if anbody knows could you tell me please?

You may also try the "Base Book" by Woodbury although is also somewhat lacking in dimensions although there are some as it relates to the thickness of the base.

schmitty,
The actual dimensions of the trap opening would be different for the illusion you are actually using the base for. For instance, a crystal casket and a cutting in thirds base opening would be different sizes and set up differently. Also, the actual size opening would be different depending upon the person inside as well. This is probably why the exact dimensions are not provided.

Trap size will always depend on size of your assistant and position you will be putting the stairs under the table.Put stairs under the Illusion and then cut trap to size.
