According one article from Magic Magazine, London, the Veneri Rattle Box was invented before Okito Box (same principle). Interesting, and who is Ernando Veneri? (Anyway, he was friend of Victor Farreli?)
Text from article in Magic Magazine, December 1952, page 226: The experienced reader will have recognized the principal which is similar to that of the Okito Coin Box, but Veneri discovered the method many years before the now standard trick was placed on the market. I found this info from Genii forum: There is also an interesting way of holding a break called "The Veneri Flesh Break". It bears a striking resemblance to the "Altman Trap". I quote: "In Veneri's method the division is held by the fleshy part of the hand at the base of the left thumb." Though Veneri used it to hold a break for the pass, other applications leap to mind as soon as you read the description and see the illustration. |
