Henry Evans effect. Anyone have any experience with this? Is it worth the $129.00?
Thanks |

Friend of mine bought it. To say we were not impressed by the quality of the props is an understatement...sorry.

Well I have would have to agree that the props are poor qaulity and it isn't worth as much as it is priced. Come on though, that doesn't mean the trick is bad because is is really good. I would NOT be able to write good instructions for an effect in English if I was from Argentina. Give Henry Evans a break! Would you all stop judging stuff that really doesn't need to be perfect. Have the props made by Todd Lassen or somebody else. Just because what you get when you buy it isn't the best doesn't mean the effect is bad. Stop being so dang critical!

I guess you have a right to be critical of a product you paid for and didn't come up to the quality you expected..

Actually, if this was made by those coin wonder guys who spoil us with their technical expertise, can you imagine the price. One of their normal size gimmicks easily can run you $60.
Henry's effect would be over $200 from a dream builder. As to the quality, I'm not sure to what you are stating. I will say this, the items are light weight, which might lead one to believe they are cheap. You need to know what they are used for and how. The touch in using these is very light and so, they will last as well as function properly for the moves. I bought the set when he shot his latest dvd set, where there is a great description as only dvd can show. I was impressed with the value. The jumbo coins are what nailed me and the thinking and choreography are brilliant. Tom |

I'm sorry but i'm not trying too give someone a hard time and i'm not trying to give somebody a break either. If i buy a car then i expect certain quality for a certain price. Now with magic i know that there is a price ratio between quality and the secret i'm very aware of this. The overall product you get is just not worth the money imho i was very disapointed to say the least. Why should I give someone a break if I think the product that he has sold me is too expensive. I want too go as far as too say i found myself ripped off for the first time and talked too a lot of friends/magicians about this. I've bought thousands of dollars worth of magic and never had this feeling before until this trick. Though there is one good thing about it: It was my first buy at magicsmith.com and I was very impressed with there speed of delivery and there service so i bought some more later at there site though i would advice them not too sell this trick at least not at that price.
And imagine i need too buy a dvd too above this allready expensive price i just don't get it because someone is from Argetina you can get away with bad desriptions of your trick?? I'm from Holland and will go in the buisness of magic straight away if that is the case. First trick is for free: Take coin make dissapear. That's the explanation. I'm sorry the moment you stop being critical is the moment people can get away with overpricing products. to quote Magicsmith's advertisement : "The gaffs consist of the highest quality coins that money can by." (yes by instead of buy ???) So give me the customer a break and don't state anything that is just not true period. Cheers, Remon |

Gentlemen, gentlemen...let's stay courteous!
There were questions concerning an effect, not the reputation of a person in the first place. I have never seen mr. Evans perform. From what I've heard he is quite good and I have no doubt in that. Concerning the quality of this particular effect I was not impressed. If I look at some of my favorite performers/inventors I can only say that they also have products that I couldn't care for as well as products I'd give my left arm for...erm...well, you get the point. I think forums like these are perfectly suited for honest reviews, either good or bad if they are aimed towards products. Critisism on persons though, seems very tricky to me. This thread became personal somehow, which is what I want to warn for...
