Ok, I'm not really but I am an artist and
this involves forgery. About 3 weeks ago a friend of mine (female) from out of state came to visit. She's going to a university away from here, so I almost never see her, except on the breaks. When last she visited she told me she had a new residence and DEMANDED that I call her and write to her and visit her this summer. Well, being a magician I didn't have a normal paper and pen handy, but I DID have a pen and a deck of cards. I said "think of a card" and knowing her I felt I had a good shot at the "luck prediction" thing, and if not I would just do a trick with the card she thought of and use the QH as something to write on. But she luckily CHOSE the QH and she thought it was amazing when I pulled it out and gave her a pen but that's another story... She wrote her number and address on the card and gave it back and I put it in my wallet where it has stayed...until today. I am preparing to fly down there in the summer (I know its early but Be Prepared I say). So I'm planning things I want to do there, comedy clubs and yes, I would like to take her to see some good magic in her area. While I was thinking of the trip, I recalled the card. "I know... I'll do a T & R card with that card!" All I had to do was make a quick duplicate that could pass basic inspection since she would not expect it (never broadcast what you are going to do etc etc). I would just say "remember when you gave me this..." and proceed to RIP IT TO SHREDS IN FRONT OF HER...Then restore it piece by piece. Oh yeah baby, think of how potent that will be... I figured I'd have to do it a couple times but the VERY FIRST attempt is SOOO good that for a moment I could not tell them apart. I mean, I had the original behind the copy as I went. The writing was around the border so I was turning the cards etc. to get it all and at one point they were side by side and all of a sudden I got this feeling. Washed with that "Oh Crap..." sensation that you can actually feel like a wave across your body when you know something is going bad. Luckily close scrutiny revealed enough errors that I am certain I put the right one back in my wallet, but MAN is this gonna be a great illusion! The cool thing is I have also designed a transposition where I sign a card that later is the card sandwiched between their hands but I sign the card AFTER it is in their hands and I have gotten the signature down so well you really would have to study it to know for sure... Ahhh... fun with forgery... I'll stop trying to brag...Take care all.

I love this story! Good for bragging rights I'd say.
Hivemind, promise us you will post what her reaction was when you perform this effect. Good luck! |

That has already been done before by Jay Sankey. I apparently came up with that too, before I found out Jay Sankey did it. I use that routine during walk around all the time.
Good story HiveMind! Andrew |

I just love your second paragraph "About 3 weeks ago . . ."
Oh to be so young again! I wish a few more young girls had DEMANDED I stayed with them in the 1970s! |
