Hi all,
I have just watched the demo for this video on Penguin Magic, and I must say that It looks very good indeed. It has also got a lot of praise off one of my magic friends (Alright Tiger) What is this video like to learn from ? Do you need coin shells and stuff for the video ? Any help would be great. There is one trick in the video that uses a shell, maybe two. Most of it is sleight of hand. I think it is a great video for people who have and know the main sleights in modern coin magic. It teaches mnay valuable sleights as well as a routine that uses them. I love his clean cois across - one of the best impromptu tricks IMO. Three coins across using three coins (I borrow quarters). It is well worth your money but don't forget about the Roth tapes.

Comparing to Roth's tape, Revolutionary Coin Magic has some good, new ideas. "Mr Clean coin across" is a very nice coin routine...which is similar to Greg Wilson's "Quick Silver(?)". I also recommend "Messiah Vanish" and many of the other sleights...Well worth your $$$
Yet, I think sooner or later, you will also get Roth's tape if you are really interested in coin magic. best, Hirase
In love with magic!

Jason,
Thanks for your correction. Yes, what I mean is 3/4 Across, in "on the spot" video. Hirase

I have heard great things about this set, if it is anything like his other materials then it should be well worth the money!

It's a great video for all levels of magician, ranging from the really simple and easier moves/routines to the harder moves/ routines that combine a lot what is taught near the start and the end of the tape.
As long as you know the basics of coin magic or own Bobo's Modern Coin Magic then you will be at a great level to improve! I love this video....the only problem i have with it is....THAT'S ITS GOT SO MUCH GREAT STUFF ON IT IT and its gonna take ages to learn it all!! Regards Davé (Alrighttiger)

Overall the effects in the tape are very good. But I still think there are some fillers which are not that good. But I must say that for serious student, you must get the tape to see some good thoughts.
Alex PS: As 'on the spot' is mentioned above, I would like to say 'GET THEM!!!' as well.

Hi James,
returning to your original question, why do you want to know if any tricks use a shell ? Although the effects are variable and as Alex says it contains filler material, I'm not sure I agree with those who regard it as beginner level. There is a large proportion of moves and productions to tricks and I think it's more a jumping off point for your own routines than a place to pick up tricks. Since like me you live in England, make sure you get a good copy, some have been terible ! Eddie |

This video tape is killer!!! Great powerful material. I learned a lot from watching this. I loved it. GET IT!!! His coins across is great and I love a trick on there that I cannot remember the name of at the moment. But any way a circular brad you are holding in your hand penetrates and fastens itself to a signed card. This one is incredible!!!

Is this available on DVD yet?
Having both DVD and VHS formats, I will (hopefully) never buy a VHS again. It is so much easier to go where you want on a DVD, no more fast forwarding/rewinding, simply go to the chapter you want. I'd like to get this, but will hold out until it is released on DVD. David Roth is beginning to put his stuff out on DVD. YAAAAAAAY! |
