Hi guys.
To you, who is reading my humble thread right now, thanks for at least being kind enough to read my post. I'm in a rather tricky situation here. I got some effects from an online magic store, but the one I'm going to talk about are the D'Lites. No, it's not specifically about D'Lites, but more of how to return these defective D'Lites. You see, I'm aaaaall the way in the Philippines (I actually live in Japan, but I'm going to school here in the Philippines) and I could probably get magic stuff every year or so, because the shipping is mighty expensive. So then, I use my D'Lites for about 5 minutes and they die out on me. Well, not very worried so far, I'll just return them, I thought. Then I remembered the distance from here to the US. I don't know how I'm going to produce the money I need to ship my D'Lites to be replaced, but well. That's life. So, I'm not here to complain about my troubles, but to ask if there are any other people on this Café that's experienced something like this? Yours, Kazuki Yamada
Hmm.

You may want to dig out some electrical testers and check the "workings". The problem may be bad batteries. If yours are the same type as the one I've got, you should be able to pop out the battery (with a bit of work) and replace it.

Okay, so I'll address both your comments.
First, Erik: Could you please let me know what "type" of D'lite you have? It is true that if and that's a BIG if, you are handy and are comfortable working with small electronics, then yes, you could get the battery out. HOWEVER...That is NOT recommended. Things can happen, even in the slightest. But anyway, just send it back with shipping and get an entirely whole NEW one! The D’Lites of today are much brighter and the technology is always evolving. (Plus, now with the other colors, blue, white, gold, green, color change and the morph, they are all the same level of brightness) Kazuki: I don't know what to tell you??? They use a 3-volt lithium battery. If you say that you bought a D'lite and then after five minutes it died, that confuses me? I mean yes, the battery WILL die, but not right away. Are you saying you bought it in another country than where you are now? If you purchased it at a magic shop, try to return it there. Explain the situation, they should take it back or at least replace it with a new one? If all else fails, you will need to return it with a copy of your receipt, to D'lite. I don't know what the International rates would be? Domestic rates are $7.50 for one or $9.90 for two. justin@dlite.com |

Justin- if what you're implying is that mine is not a licensed version, then you'll be glad to know that it is an authentic one. It's just one of the older ones. I've had it for probably close to ten years, and had a hunch that the technology had been updated since then. Which you've confirmed for me.
(And, yes, I'm fairly comfortable working with small electronics. Though actually, for me, popping the battery out was not a problem- after some use, the glue came loose, and the whole mechanism popped out. Maybe I should pick up a new one some time...) -Erik

No, I wasn't implying anything, I was just asking. So then I'm guessing you have one that has the guts exposed? Time for an upgrade then. Why not send it back and get a completely new one? The newer ones are much better and nothing inside is exposed. Not only that, the LED is much brighter.
On a related note...something NEW and EXCITING is in the works and you should be hearing about it real soon! |
