Hey, everyone. I am making a large themed backdrop. It is going to be 15 feet long by 10 feet High. I may make it 20 feet long. I suppose the way to support this is with two tripods and a crossbeam. Does anyone have sources for this support system? Thank you.

Jim,
It depends on how heavy you want it to be. Unless you are going to use a theatrical truss system, you'll likely need to have three tripod supports to avoid sagging in the center. I have a 20' backdrop system made for photography. It's lightweight and reasonably inexpensive but some people don't like using a system this lightweight. Here's one like I use: http://www.backdropsource.com/Productinf......op-stand Here's one at a better price: http://www.adorama.com/JTB1020.html If you are looking for something more substantial, I'm sure others will chime in with their suggestions. Thanks, Michael. They look good. Are they both the same system? If so, that's a big difference in price.

Now that I look closer at them, I do think they are the same system. I did a quick search for these yesterday because the ones I have are no longer available. Adorama usually has the best prices around on photo gear.
I found the same price at Silverlake Photo but their shipping should be cheaper because they are in Idaho and Adorama is in New York: http://www.silverlakephoto.com/B-1020-Ba......277.html I've bought from Silverlake Photo before and they are great to deal with. Michael |

Thank you again, Michael. You're the best.
I suppose it's versitle enough that I could also use just two of the upright stands for a 10 foot background? Jim

Yes and you can do configurations from 6 feet wide to 20 feet wide.
