Is there a list of all of the methods used to control a card to the top, 2nd from top, bottom, or second from bottom of a deck?
If not, can someone make one. |

Just wanted to point out that a list like that would be extremely long. Is there a specific reason to ask?

Okay, maybe I should change the question a little.
I want to learn a couple controls, so I just want to know which ones I should invest the time in to learn. What are your favorite (most used) methods of controlling a card? |

If mastered, the pass is an efficient way. You must invest time in that.
Easiest that you can use ;double undercut. Under a minute |

There's probably thousands of different controls, so a list isn't going to be that helpful. Everyone eventually works out the ways that work best for them. You'll want to have a couple, as different contexts call for different controls. For example, in some tricks you want to lose the card somewhere in the deck. In other tricks, you want to put the card in the middle of the deck, and from the audience's perception it stays there. In some tricks, its okay (from the audience's perspective) if you see the face of the card, in others the identity of the card must be unknown to you.
Almost any beginner's resource will give you a number of different controls to play with. Royal Road to Card Magic is a good inexpensive place to start. Read, experiment, and you'll find the methods that work for you. Here's what I use: -if the deck is shuffled: hindu shuffle control -if the card stays in the middle: pass or side steal, or reverse the top card and DL -to palm the card out: side steal -to the bottom: Marlo's convincing control -in non-fast company: double undercut |
