I just purchased the Split Coin from the UK (pending its arrival). Will the Digital Dissolve gimmick fit over the Split Coin?? I understand that the Split Coin is thinner. Would the Digital Dissolve gimmick fit too much over the Split Coin that the Split Coin will be too far deeply recessed into the Digital Dissolve gimmick?? Confusing, I know, but people who have these 2 gimmicks will hopefully understand what I am talking about with them in their hands. I am trying to make a Dream Coin set. .

Nice thinking!!!!!
Yes, it fits (I know, I just tried it with my DD and split coin). Also, due to the Teflon coating, it's as smooth as a baby's bum!!! Caig |

Salby,
I'm in the same position. Awaiting the arrival of the Split Coin, and I have Digital Dissolve. Interesting! Good for you. Jim. |

Thanks, guys... An order for DD will be made pretty soon. Also, is there a DVD that is out there for routines for the Dream Coin set?? Craig, I hear you have some great DVDs on gimmicked coins. Any word on coming up with a DVD for it? What about for a Triple Threat set of 3CM??? .

I have a DVD out called 'Split Happens,' which are routines with the Split Coin. There are a couple of review threads over in the DVD section, but it has been getting good reviews. Regarding the Split Coin and shell (either Slippery Sam or normal shell), I have a few routines on a future DVD set of mine called 'The Coining Around Trilogy,' which is a three disk set of routines with regular coins, gimmicks, and everything. There are also a couple of routines on there with the Triple Threat gaff, as well. But if you have not seen 'Split Happens,' that might be just what you are looking for and will give you a good grounding with the Split Coin.
Hope this helps, Craig |

Hi, Salby.
We are aiming to have Coining Around out by Christmas or Blackpool (Feb '09) at the latest. I really want to make this set the best I can, so we are spending a lot of time on it. Plus, I am really busy right now finishing off my first book (which should also be out for Christmas). We are planning a Split Happens 2 as well, but that could be a while. I only publish material I have worked in the real world for at least a year, so the routines for that are not ready yet. Have you seen my Flipped Out DVD on the flipper coin? That is right up your street I think! Craig |

Thanks, Craig, for giving us a heads up for Christmas... I must start saving now, huh? So many good things coming our way. The Flipped Out DVD looks awesome, too... They all do!! You truly look outside the box. I have another question about the Dream Coin set when compared to the Split Coin/Digital Dissolve Combo: Is there a locking mechanism? I mean, can you flip the coin(s) in the air as 1 and then easily unlock it during the performance to make 2 again? Obviously, the SC/DD combo does NOT have that feature. I am not too sure with the Dream Coin set. If not, it should be created with a slightly snugger fit or be magnetic somehow. What are your thoughts on manually, but VERY carefully, "clamping" or "squeezing" the sliding gimmick (or Digital Dissolve) to make it tighter? What might be the best way one can accomplish this? I feel a whole lot more routines are possible then. .
