Hi I saw a magician perform this routine with what I think was a Boston Box ( I am familiar with Okito Boxes etc.) anyway the coins where put under 4 cards and they jumped from cards to box etc etc , but it was so clean I am wonder if it is a marketed effect and gimmicked ? Any help appreciated.

The routine is Chad Long's. It is called Okito Reversembly. You can find it on his Video. It might be in one of the 'cheesy notebook' series. It is a wonderful routine. I have a version using a regular okito box. I don't do it anymore because it is absolutely chock full of sleights. I came up with it mainly just to see if I could.

You may have seen my marketed item called "Boston Massacre." Its inspirational source was Chad's routine but mine is quite different. The box is in the center with four coins all covered with a card. Chad has the box at the outer right corner and uses 3 coins. Also, I have a visual jump back at the end where the box is open and full. You pass your hand over the box and suddenly it's empty. The coins are under the cards.
You also get a second routine where the same sort of effect occurs but without using cards at all. At the end the spectator puts the lid on a full box. Then you lift your hands, showing that all four coins are back. The box is empty. The first routine isn't very difficult. The second is a bit tricky but only at the very end. You get a manuscript with both routines, illustrated with 20 photos and a very nice Boston Box for $20. You can get the manuscript only for $10. The routine was reviewed in this month's Linking Ring magazine. Check my site: http://www.mallofmagic.com Mike

However, the routine is not in any of Chad's notes because, as Chad explained, it'd be really difficult to put in print and is really very easy to describe on video. Buy all the notes (and the second video) anyways. I am a firm believer that everyone should own just about everything Chad Long decides to put out. Paul
