I have an oppurtunity to acquire this Dekolta chair and modified 'base' at a pretty fair price...but I would like to get some opinions on this...whether you own it or not, seen it or not....just some thoughts on improving it or working it. It is angle proof which is a bonus...I just worry about the deception.
Here is the link http://www.folsommagic.com/images/003_22A-2.jpg Any input would be appreciated. Thank you. |

I don't think that illusion fools anyone you can work out the method without even trying hard. I would not suggest you get it.
Think about it, why would a chair be ontop o a big wooden box structure which you cannot see thru also the bevel around the chair rings alam bells and then to top it off the cloth will cover even more. I wonder where he/she has gone ??? do you understand where I am coming from ? Jordan |

Take the chair, throw out the base...
Or have something build like million dollar mystery on the back of the "Base" so you can take the walls off the big *** box after. |

Either kill the base or turn the case into a mi***r box. I would personally take the base apart and use the wood to build something else. You can use something like Chair Up There in conjunction with the existing chair. http://www.illusiondownloads.com

Hey Guys,
Thanks for your input. I am considering it only for the chair itself, the base is too obvious. I plan on only offering a trade though if anything. Thanks for the input, I just needed others to confirm the obvious...I find that because the method screams to me on ALOT of illusions that I am always asking others opinions....thankfully we all have the Café. |

There was a coffee table on Magicauction a few months ago - it look like a typical table you would have in your living room. You could see through the ends of the table, and the middle was a "box" with a m*****. This would be an ideal base for this chair.

So......the chair vanishes into the base? Yeah, too obvious!*
*The previous statements were said in jest. The writer knows how the DeKolta Chair works. Cheers!
