What do you think would be the best method to make a small object (for example, a folded piece of paper--a "billet") visually appear and disappear in a close-up situation, not utilizing sleight of hand? I'm talking about a close-up "materialization/dematerialization/transformation chamber," like a miniature "Star Trek Transporter." Contraptions like the "Mirage" double parabolic mirrors, miniature "Pepper Ghost" boxes, small electical machines, etc. would all be acceptable. Any ideas?
Details make perfection, but perfection is no detail.

how about a couple of polorized shees of plastic rotated.....
poloraized plastic (2 sheet) are clear at 90 & 127 degrees and opaque at 1/360 and 180 degrees. by rotating the uper plastic..the item would become visible.
